CASEY residents can recycle their old mobile phones at two drop-off points in the municipality.
People can recycle their mobile phones, batteries, chargers and accessories at Narre Warren and Cranbourne.
The council, in conjunction with the MobileMuster program, encourages residents to recycle mobile phones now.
Council’s manager of engineering and environment David Richardson said mobile phones were not biodegradable and contained harmful substances that, if not managed properly, could harm the environment.
“It is important residents don’t throw mobiles in the rubbish where heavy metals like cadmium and lead can end up in landfill,” Mr Richardson said.
The City of Casey drop-off points for MobileMuster are located at the Narre Warren Customer Service, Magid Drive in Narre Warren, and the Cranbourne Customer Service at Centro Shopping Centre in High Street, Cranbourne.
