Cool venue for

By Lia Bichel
Former Casey councillor Steve Beardon said he told the council last year about the need for the hall’s upgrades.
“The sweat box as it was once called will hopefully now be known as the cool hall to have a ball in,” he said.
Cranbourne Hall committee member Rod Atherton said making the appropriate changes to the hall was a big project.
“It’s a big hall so it’s a big project, costing about $60,000,” Mr Atherton said. “The council audited it last year and change had to be done, so we got a grant from the government and are going ahead with it,” he said.
Mr Atherton said the repairs had commenced and he hoped normal operations at Cranbourne Hall would resume at the end of February.
