Powering down

CASEY residents can take action to cut their power bills and reduce their impact on climate change by picking up an Energy Saving Action Kit.
The kit includes tips on energy saving actions around the home, a thermometer for cutting fridge and freezer energy wastage and a shower timer.
The kits are part of the State Government’s black balloon energy saving campaign.
Cranbourne MP Jude Perera encouraged residents to collect a free kit.
“The black balloons advertising campaign is back this year to remind Victorians that when we use energy we create greenhouse gas, which adds to climate change.
“Greenhouse gas savings can be made if Victorians adopt energy saving behaviours such as switching off appliances at the wall, washing laundry in cold water and using a fan instead of air-conditioning where possible.”
People can get their hands on a free Energy Saving Action Kit by SMS. Send the word ‘energy’ to 13 61 86 or by visiting www.saveenergy.vic.gov.au
