STAFF at Sporting Chance in Hampton Park are hoping for a hat-trick, after they sold their second multi-million dollar winning ticket this month.
The Hampton Park shop sold the winning $4 million ticket for Saturday’s Tattslotto draw, about three weeks after it sold the winning $3 million Powerball ticket.
Manager Sharon Bunting said she was thrilled about the shop’s luck, and said the most pleasing thing was to hear the winner of the $4,023,476.09 prize money was a Hampton Park woman aged in her 50s.
“It’s just great news, you can’t describe it. It puts all of the staff on a high and gives you a buzz,” Ms Bunting said.
“It would be great if we took a hat-trick,” she said with a laugh.
The Hampton Park woman said she always planned to quit her job if she won Tattslotto, but now that the dream was a reality, she wasn’t so sure.
“I always said I’d resign,” she said. “But I actually like working. I would probably be bored in two weeks if I quit.”
The woman said she was too shocked to know exactly how she would spend her windfall, but planned to make her nephews and nieces her first priority and treat herself to her first holiday in 10 years.
Like the Powerball ticket, the winning Tattslotto ticket was the result of a quick-pick.
Ms Bunting said she was delighted that someone from Hampton Park won the major prize.
“For anyone around the Hampton Park area to win Tattslotto is great. There are needy people in this area.”
While Ms Bunting was surprised at the shop’s second win this month, she said it was not uncommon for the same outlet to sell a second major prize after a first division win.
