Group welcomes mature learners

By Bridget Brady
CURRENT and prospective Cranbourne U3A members are invited to attend an open registration day on Friday.
Members could put their names down for new classes, while those interested in joining can discover what the Cranbourne U3A has to offer.
President Jim Hedrick encouraged potential members to come along to the open day on Friday 30 January from 10am to 2pm.
The U3A, or University of the Third Age, offers a range of classes from computer courses to arts and crafts for older citizens and those in active retirement who are keen to continue to learn.
“But for me the greatest thing about U3A is the social outlet and the activity it provides for the actively retired type of person,” Mr Hedrick said.
The Cranbourne U3A is located behind the Cranbourne Library at 65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road.
