THE Turning Point Family Church in Cranbourne will host a family fun day this weekend for people affected by disability.
Pastor Phillip Cayzer said the day was organised to offer support to people who had disabilities, their families and carers.
“We have had a large number of people comment about the current stresses on families affected by disability,” he said.
“The church saw this as an opportunity to help and offer spiritual support.”
Pastor Cayzer said the fun day, to be held at the Turning Point Church on Saturday 24 January, would include a barbecue, mini golf, face painting, fairy floss and an animal farm.
“This is a day out for families to enjoy,” he said.
Pastor Cayzer said the church’s aim was to eventually develop a program to offer further support to local agencies and families.
“Carers and families get under a lot of pressure and stress. Families need support.”
Anyone was welcome to attend, he said. The event will be held from 3.30pm to 8.30pm at the Turning Point Family Church, opposite Devon Road, at 1785 South Gippsland Highway, Cranbourne.
