FAIRIES flew into Cranbourne for some fun in the gardens this week.
About 20 children donned their best costumes for the water fairies and elves program at the Royal Botanic Gardens on Tuesday.
The children learnt about how to care for plants during a drought, and the kind of care plants needed to help them grow.
Co-ordinator of visitor programs Rebecca Levy said staff read a story to the children in the Australian Gardens.
“Then we made some watering can wands, charged them and flew to the rock pool waterway.”
Ms Levy said the program was always popular at the gardens and an excellent way to combine fun and education for children.
