Finest felines on display

By Lia Bichel
CAT lovers are invited to enjoy Australia’s oldest cat-showing event on 1 February in Cranbourne.
The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy Australia and Victoria Inc (GCCFV) kitten and neuter show will provide an opportunity for cat enthusiasts to see and learn about a variety of felines from across the nation.
“There are going to be a whole lot of breeds of cats, including rare ones that people may not have seen anywhere else,” GCCFV sponsorship and promotion officer Steven Gates said. “I encourage everyone to come out and appreciate them, and listen to the judges explain the cats.”
Mr Gates said those who attend should refrain from patting the cats and turn off their mobile phones so as not to alarm them.
The show will be held at the Balla Balla Community Centre in Cranbourne from 10.30am until 3pm. Entry cost is $2 for an adult, $1 for a child and $5 for a family.
