School turns 10 in style

A FAMILY fun day accompanied the 10th birthday celebrations at Kilberry Valley Primary School last week.
Past and present staff, students and parents enjoyed an array of activities last Friday to mark the 10th anniversary of the Hampton Park school.
Guests included founding principal Jan White and Holt MP Anthony Byrne.
After a ceremony to open a new television studio, there was a guided tour and morning tea in the newly constructed staffroom.
The studio was dedicated to Ms White and school council president Andrew White for their years of service to the school.
Activities included a scavenger hunt, origami, face painting and karaoke.
Organiser Yvette Hendrickson said the day was a huge success, with the whole school community helping.
“It’s great to see parents, students and school staff coming together to celebrate 10 great years of quality education,” she said.
A book to commemorate the milestone was created for the occasion.
Parents volunteered time to make a quilt for the anniversary, and donated goods for the many stalls.
