CASEY councillors are to receive a 34 per cent pay rise. Councillors will receive $24,200 a year plus 9 per cent superannuation, while the mayor will receive $77,300 plus superannuation.
Council’s manager of administration, Ian Sparrow, said it was the first pay rise since 1 July 2003, and the increase was in line with recommendations of the Local Government Panel Report, approved by the Minister for Local Government in April.
“This increase is effective immediately and will be publicly reviewed by July 2009,” he said.
