CHRISTMAS cheer will be in order at a free festive celebration for Cranbourne residents on 22 December.
The Cranbourne Salvation Army will hold Christmas On the Block in an effort to connect the community during the festive season.
Some of the free activities include Christmas carols, face painting, farm animals, sausage sizzle and a jumping castle. A fireworks display will end the evening at 9.30pm.
Salvation Army member Heather Sparrius said she hoped Christmas On the Block would become an annual event.
“The aim is to provide free Christmas fun for the whole family,” Mrs Sparrius said.
“People can be so busy during Christmas and the message is to just spend some time with family and the community.”
Captain Peter Walker from the Cranbourne Salvation Army wished Cranbourne residents a happy Christmas and said he hoped to see many community members at the event.
Christmas On the Block will be held outside at the Cranbourne Salvation Army at 1 New Holland Drive, Cranbourne, from 7pm.
People are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to the event.
