Wins for Hampton Park

The ladies’ A2 side played a very strong Beaumaris side at home and scraped in by five shots on the last end of the contest.
Mavis Kelly, Nola Flemming, Ellen Smith and skip Heather Naismith lost by three shots, while Joyce Cameron, June Damon, Ann Westwell and skip Mary Hose scored a come-from-behind five-shot victory.
Dot Carr, Grace Hogan, Gwen Clough and skip Geri Graafsma claimed a three-shot win in a low-scoring game.
Three rinks were finished and the scores were level across the board with just one end to go.
Gail Wilcock, Gail Williams, Shirley Burnside and skip Christine Hendrie were holding shot.
The opposition skip missed with two weighted bowls, while Christine moved the jack with her first bowl and then drew the second to score five shots – drawing the game on that rink.
Scores: Hampton Park 2-90 d Beaumaris (2) 0-85.

Scores: Hampton Park 10-54 d Mt Waverley 2-50.
Hampton Park has had a successful bowls season so far, with all sides in the top half of their respective ladders.
Pennant practice is on Thursday from 2.30pm.
