Churches’ turn to meet the council candidates

By Lia Bichel
CRANBOURNE church leaders met candidates from Mayfield and Balla Ball Ward at Turning Point Family Church on Sunday.
Cranbourne Christian Ministers Association initiated the annual Meet the Candidates forum in an attempt to form a link between future councillors and the church community.
Leaders and members from local Cranbourne Presbyterian Church, Assemblies of God Church, Baptist Church, Uniting Church and Christian Revival Crusade enjoyed a barbecue with candidates Avtar Gill, Michael Shepherdson, Amanda Stapledon, Gary Rowe, Steve Beardon and Alan English.
After the barbecue, candidates answered questions regarding their campaign.
The event concluded with a prayer for unity within the City of Casey council and a prayer for each candidate.
