POLICE are calling for witnesses to an incident in which a man was hit over the head with a steel bar in Doveton last Saturday.
Leading Senior Constable Cynthia Cameron said the 23-year-old Cranbourne man received a fractured skull and bruises as a result of the unprovoked attack about 4am.
She said friends found the man unconscious in the front car parking area of a block of flats in Crimson Drive.
The man was taken to The Alfred where he had between 10 and 12 staples inserted in his head.
