POLICE are asking witnesses to an indecent assault in Cranbourne last week to contact the Cranbourne Police Station.
Police said a man in his early twenties approached a 31- year-old woman from behind and touched her inappropriately before he ran off about 7.30pm last Monday.
The man was travelling in a northerly direction towards the Homemaker Centre on the South Gippsland Highway, police said.
The man fled across the road when the women screamed.
Police described the man as having short, dark curly hair and being of Italian descent.
They said he wore a light blue shirt and blue three quarter length pants.
If anyone has information about the assault they can contact Detective Senior Constable Ray Ross at the Cranbourne Police Station on 5991 0600.
