Mayor calls for free medical checks

Casey mayor Janet Halsall said she would be calling on the Department of Human Services to provide the checks after she discovered the health problems while visiting residents on Friday. Other residents complained of head-aches and mood swings.
“After the initial scare of fleeing the estate, residents have had a chance to take stock and are now concerned for their health,” Cr Halsall said.
She said Brookland Greens residents should be given free medical treatment – urgently.
“I’ll be pushing the DHS to extend their role from not just helping residents relocate, but by providing full medical checks for residents. When it comes to people’s health, there is a degree of urgency,” Cr Halsall said.
