The children, aged three to five years, at Cranbourne Pre-school will celebrate the new piece of outdoor equipment with a pirate themed day today.
The children will also participate in activities such as making treasure maps, eye patches and swords to mark the occasion.
Cranbourne Pre-school fundraising committee chairperson Rebecca Griffiths said the children loved the pirate ship.
“The children were lining up at the window, watching the tradesman assembling the pirate ship,” she said.
“They’ve let their imaginations run wild with it,” she said.
The centre has more than 65 families enrolled across the three and four-year-old children’s programs and will begin fund-raising for outdoor shade sails.
“We’d like to thank the local businesses in Cranbourne and Urban Earth for supporting us,” Ms Griffiths said.
