POLICE wound up Operation Womera last Sunday, charging eight thieves with a total of 260 commercial burglaries in Cranbourne and Clyde.
The men were aged from 19 to 38 years and were charged with burglary, theft and handling stolen goods.
Detective Senior Constable Paul Stow said the thieves were all working together.
Police said the offences were committed from May this year at several retail businesses and sporting clubs in Cranbourne.
Det Sen Const Stow said it was a good result for the crews involved.
