CRANBOURNE Secondary College has been swamped with calls from former students and teachers across Australia about its 30th school reunion next week.
Organisers of the reunion encouraged former 1970s and 80s students to take a long hard look at their school photos to help them recognise old buddies.
Reunion organiser and former student Annette Pearce (nee Coffey) said she was thrilled with the response to the reunion and had spoken to many people eager to be a part of the celebration.
“We have people making the journey from the Sunshine and the Gold Coast in Queensland and as far afield as Shepparton in Victoria,” Mrs Pearce said.
“Some people have sent in old photographs asking if certain people will be coming along and specifically inquiring about former teachers.
“I’m not sure if that’s to finally rebut old grudges or compliment the teachers following their own successes.”
Mrs Pearce said it would be interesting to see what people had done with their lives.
Cranbourne Secondary College was officially opened in February 1976 with approximately 200 students in forms one and two.
The 1976-1985 reunion will be held at the Amstel Golf Club on Saturday, 26 August from 7pm until late.
A $30 entry fee will cover entertainment and finger food with drinks available at bar prices.
Tickets for the event are selling fast and should be prepaid prior to the evening.
