AN AMERICAN soccer player is right at home with her Narre Warren North host family.
Sara McAllister, 17, has been in Casey for the Edwin Flack Games, which wrapped up this week.
The Croom family will be sorry to say goodbye tomorrow after welcoming Sara into their lives over two weeks ago.
Parents Liz and Stuart Croom and kids Stef, 19, Bec, 16, and Adrian, 14, decided to host Sara, who comes from Springfield, Ohio, after they were asked by the president of the Berwick City Soccer Club, with which they have had a long involvement.
Mrs Croom said the girls had hit it off and were making Sara feel more than welcome.
“She’s fitted in really well. The girls really get along,” she said.
“They’ve been going to the movies and parties.”
Mrs Croom said the kids had also jumped on the World Cup bandwagon, with the whole family going to Federation Square last week.
“Sara really enjoyed it, especially after America went out. She was barracking for Australia with us,” she said.
The family tried to get along to a number of the Edwin Flack games and also went on some of the tourism trips, which included Phillip Island, Puffing Billy and Sovereign Hill.
