CRANBOURNE TAFE students put their green thumbs to good use last week, planting thousands of trees as part of National Tree Day.
Students from Chisholm Institute’s Diploma of Conservation and Land Management joined local community volunteers to plant more than 4000 indigenous species of plants on Friday, with the aim of creating wildlife corridors and buffer zones for new wetlands. The second year TAFE students organised the day and were on hand to assist and guide the volunteers in planting the various trees, shrubs and grasses.
