LYNDHURST Secondary College students have made a pledge to continue their education or employment.
About 150 year 10 students took part in the school’s second Beacon Smart Futures Pledge Signing Ceremony last Wednesday.
The students made a commitment that by March next year they would be in continuing education, training or employment.
Joanne Ryan, Lyndhurst Sand quarry manager and Senior Constable Brett Owen, Cranbourne Police youth resource officer, shared their stories about their own personal transitions from school to further training and their current careers.
The school was delighted to welcome back former student Alicia Copeland who spoke about her pathway from a Lyndhurst Secondary College graduate in 2003 to a regional manager with two Subway stores.
Nine students showed how they could approach different work placements with confidence and poise.
International model Sally Arnott coached the students in the art of building confidence, while Samantha Wadsworth, also a former student of the school, assisted with make up and hair styling.
