COMMONWEALTH Games spirit was alive at Hampton Park Primary School when prep students participated in the tabloid sports day recently.
The activities were held in celebration of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, with youngsters vying for medals in the three-legged race, egg and spoon relay race, rob the nest competition and running relays.
Teacher Faye Rendall said the students had been learning about the Games and the importance of participating in sport.
“They were encouraged to show good sportsmanship and encouragement to all other team members,” she said.
