LYNDHURST Secondary College said goodbye to its Japanese exchange students last Tuesday.
The Kawasaki High school students left on Tuesday morning after a 10-day stay with host families from the Cranbourne school.
Humanities teacher Andrew Whitmore said the send-off was an emotional time for all involved.
“There were a lot of tears,” he said.
The 12 Japanese exchange students took part in ESL (English as a second language) classes from periods one to four and got to join in regular classes for the last two periods of the day.
They also visited several Melbourne tourist destinations during their stay, including Phillip Island and Puffing Billy.
Mr Whitmore said the students couldn’t get enough of Australia.
“They absolutely loved it,” he said.
It’s the fourth year that students from Japan have visited Lyndhurst Secondary College.
Mr Whitmore said the school hoped to take a group of students of Japan in the future.
So, it’s Sayonara from Lyndhurst
