A BUNCH of brainy Cranbourne West Primary School students has put their heads together to raise money for epilepsy research.
The grade five and six students recently participated in a 45minute trivia challenge quiz to raise funds for the Epilepsy Foundation of Victoria.
The students managed to donate a hefty $300 to the foundation while two of the teams were chosen to compete in an online statewide semifinal.
From those finals, the grade six team of Ananda, Matthew, James and Brooke were selected to take part in the state final day held at Melbourne University on Sunday.
Teacher Rudy Youssef said the students put their knowledge to the test against 50 other schools statewide and although they didn’t make it to the grand final, the school was extremely proud of their efforts.
“They didn’t make it to the top 10 but it was a fantastic effort to get that far,” he said.
“We don’t know how far off they were from making the grand final, but the school is very proud.”
