CASEY retailers promoting safety for young locals can be nominated for the upcoming Kids ‘R’ Safe Retailer Awards.
And just by nominating, locals could win themselves a $500 shopping voucher.
City of Casey community safety manager Caroline Bell said everyone had a role to play in making the lives of children as safe as possible.
“(We) can reduce the risk of serious injuries to young children by checking products, using products safely and removing household hazards,” she said.
“Part of the responsibility to prevent injury amongst children also lies with the retailers who sell child safety and child-related products, and council is looking to recognise local traders who are putting safety first and making a difference.”
Everyone who nominates a retailer is automatically put in the draw for a $500 Westfield Shopping Centre gift voucher.
Keep an eye out for the colourful Tortoise posters and 2007 Kids ‘R’ Safe Retailer Awards nomination forms at participating retailers or contact council’s customer service on 9705 5200 for a form.
Nominations close on Friday 28 September.
