STUDENTS at Tooradin Primary School snuggled up in their favourite pyjamas with a blanket and teddy to brave the freezing cold last week.
Reading a bedtime story by the heater seemed like the best way to beat the cold on Thursday for students from prep to six, who celebrated Literacy and Numeracy Week with a pyjama day.
Teacher Leanne Scamporlino said the day capped off a busy week of activities at the school to raise awareness of reading, writing and maths.
“The kids brought their favourite bedtime stories, pyjamas, blankets and pillows and partnered up with their buddy grades to read together.
“It was freezing in the morning so many students changed back into their school uniforms to go outside but it was a really fun day.
“This was just one of a number of activities as part of Literacy and Numeracy Week, including Grandparents Day, a book fair and an open night,” she said.
