EDUCATION Services Minister Jacinta Allan last week visited Cranbourne’s Marnebek School to see how the students were benefiting from new classrooms.
The school recently received two new relocatable buildings, each containing two classrooms, to cater for increased enrolments.
“The new classrooms are bigger, they’re environmentally friendly and energy efficient and replace old-style portable classrooms,” Ms Allan said.
Ms Allan said the classrooms had been adapted to suit the needs of a special school.
“These classrooms are much more comfortable and functional, especially for a special school setting in which children often use equipment to help them move around the room,” she said.
Under the State Government’s relocatable replacement program, 600 new relocatable classrooms are being installed at schools throughout Victoria to replace older portables.
