LYNDHURST Secondary College has elected Bianca Van Den Boogaard and Adam Koe as its school captains for 2008.
The students are studying year 12 and already have a number of ideas to kick start their time in office.
Bianca, 17, is the first VCAL student to be elected as a school captain at Lyndhurst and will spend one day each school week at a job placement.
“The VCAL program gives students a hands-on start in the workforce,” she said.
“I’ll spend one day in a job placement, one day at TAFE and the other three days at school, so it’s going to be a full-on year.”
Bianca wants to carve out a career path in the real estate industry and has ambitions to ensure every year 12 student at Lyndhurst has a fun year in 2008.
“The leadership group is great this year. We want to leave a legacy and everyone has great ideas about some things we can achieve this year,” she said.
Adam said he never expected to be elected into the school’s top job, but was looking forward to every challenge.
“A few of my mates gave me the encouragement to nominate myself, I’m glad I did it now,” he said.
Lisa Blake and Nick McPhillips were elected as vice-captains.
