HUNDREDS of shoppers flocked to Tooradin for the opening of the new FoodWorks supermarket on the weekend.
The long-awaited store opened to a flurry of business on Saturday, with eager locals bursting through the doors after a four-month wait. Store manager Ross Mills said he was excited to finally unveil the shop to the public and looked forward to a long and prosperous future in the coastal village.
“After a long wait it is great to finally be open,” he said.
“We pride ourselves on providing friendly, old-fashioned customer service and look forward to supporting the local community.
“We employ all local kids and use local suppliers. We have a good variety in all departments, including deli, produce, dairy, frozen and liquor.”
The new FoodWorks supermarket is open seven days a week from 7.30am to 8pm weekdays and 8am to 8pm weekends.
The store is located on the South Gippsland Highway, Tooradin.
