CRANBOURNE Primary School students have been proving that school is cool.
Students have participated in the fun School Is Cool program over the first two weeks back at school.
Children could participate in a range of activities from a visit to Wilson Botanic Park, barbecue and twilight sports night to performances from the Kooweerup Secondary College show band and a visit by Captain Eric.
The program was developed and organised by Cranbourne Primary School teachers Bev Woodbridge, Katie Klajnblat and Michelle Donovan.
Ms Donovan said the program aimed to unify students, parents, staff and the wider community as the school launched into the new school year.
“Students get to know their teachers in a relaxed, fun-filled two weeks of activities with the underlying value of learning to get along with others,” she said.
Last Thursday students were bussed down to Wilson Botanic Park for a picnic lunch while on Wednesday they joined in a twilight sports and barbecue evening.
The highlight for many students was a visit to the Starlab dome, where they learnt about stars and constellations as they gazed up into the universe.
