TEAMWORK and student engagement were in focus last week at a special student leadership conference held at Narre Warren South P-12 school.
Attended by five other local schools, the day enabled students to learn about team building, leadership and student involvement.
Narre Warren South P-12 teacher Cathey Dragasia said the participating schools were in an innovation and excellence cluster.
She said two teachers from each of the six schools formed the cluster and met twice a term to discuss student engagement as well as mathematics, English and other educational matters.
The 18 students from Lyndhurst Secondary College, Lynbrook, Strathaird, Rangebank and Courtney Gardens primary school and Narre Warren P-12 school took part in the day-long event.
Ms Dragasia said the day started with guest speaker Declan Fray and then students took part in various workshops before coming back together to discuss what they had learnt.
Ms Dragasia said she hoped the conference would become an annual event and would continue to promote ties between local schools.
