THE Cranbourne community pigged out on burgers on the weekend to help raise money for charity.
A record 2235 Big Macs were sold at McDonald’s Cranbourne on Saturday as part of the annual fundraising event McHappy Day.
Store manager Christine Bucello said staff were thrilled with the public response to the day, during which $1 from every Big Mac sold went directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
“The community really pitched in and as a result we raised over $1300 in donations,” Ms Bucello said.
The store also sold 1700 wristbands, which will also go to the charities.
“It was a really busy day for us, but we have achieved some fabulous goals and broken a few store records,” Ms Bucello said. “We would like to thank the community groups who helped us on the day, as well as the local community.”
