SECURITY at Lawson Poole Reserve in Cranbourne North will be immediately upgraded after the clubrooms were broken into on Monday night.
Councillor Kevin Bradford, who is president of the Cranbourne Little Athletics Club, successfully passed an urgent notice of motion on Tuesday night to have security immediately upgraded at the facility.
The Lesdon Avenue pavilion has been broken into 13 times in the past year.
Cr Bradford said enough was enough.
“Lighting around the facility isn’t up to scratch, and the point of entry for the thieves isn’t well-lit,” he said.
Alcohol was stolen in the most recent burglary, and the communal pie warmer was damaged.
The Lawson Poole Reserve is tenanted by the athletics club, Cranbourne Meadows Cricket Club, Casey Spirit Soccer Club and several of other groups, including Auskick and Step Into Life.
