CRANBOURNE now has better access to hearing support services.
Australian Hearing, a government agency that provides a full range of hearing services, has upgraded its site in Cranbourne. Michelle Esparon, district manager, said that hearing loss was common.
“More than 60 per cent of people aged over 60 have some sort of hearing loss,” Ms Esparon said. “The prevalence of hearing loss is increasing and will continue to increase as baby boomers reach their 60s.”
Hearing services are free or subsidised for many Australian aged pensioners and veterans.
“We hope that our easily accessible site encourages people to take advantage of the services available to them,” Ms Esparon said.
Australian Hearing Cranbourne is located at the Cranbourne Integrated Care Centre, 140-154 Sladen Street, Cranbourne. To inquire about eligibility for free hearing services, call 131 797.
