A CASEY freeway that would stretch from Endeavour Hills to Cranbourne is to be investigated by council officers.
Officers will look at possible options for the north-south roadway including using the electricity transmission line easements from Heatherton Road to the South Gippsland Highway.
Councillor Rob Wilson raised the issue at last week’s council meeting.
He said the preliminary investigation would look at costs and the feasibility of doing such a project.
He said several east-west roadways had recently been constructed in the City of Casey, but nothing had been planned from a north-south route.
A report is due back to the council before September.
