XBOX 360 unleashed

Nick Verhaar
Video games buffs, or those with children, would definitely have heard of the latest and greatest new video games console XBOX 360.
Developed and released by Microsoft, the new XBOX 360 console is the company’s second endeavour into the video games market, and has been predicted to completely revolutionise the video games and home entertainment industries.
The XBOX 360 incorporates some of the fastest and most powerful hardware ever seen in a video games console, and looks set to provide mouth-watering graphics at blisteringly high speed for enthusiastic gamers all over the globe.
With a built-in ethernet card and wireless adaptor, the system allows players to go online and compete against other players all over the world.
Imagine running around a virtual world with an arsenal of weapons at your disposal, fighting to the death against eight or more players that aren’t even in the same country as you.
The original XBOX already had the capabilities to play online, but the XBOX 360 takes its XBOX Live service far beyond online gaming and introduces you to a whole new world of online communities, trading market, and other exciting new interactive media content.
Those without a broadband Internet connection or who can’t afford a subscription to the XBOX Live service can even take their console over to a mate’s house and network it with another XBOX 360 and go head to head.
The unit provides built-in support for Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound, giving the impression that players are actually in the game, and you could swear there really is a V8 Supercar hot on your trail.
The unit is becoming quite a lot more than just a video games console, and is rather an all purpose entertainment unit.
