CONTESTANTS from around the area prettied themselves up for the Hampton Park May Queen Competition.
Held at the Arthur Wren Hall in Hampton Park, the decision was a tough one for judges Andrea Myers, Jenny D’Rex and Carl Blake, with many beautiful young contestants to choose from.
After several rounds, Jessica Murphy was voted the 2007 Hampton Park May Queen and Charlene Taylor was runner-up.
Jessica received a sash, a trophy, a $100 Myer gift voucher, a tiara and a bouquet of flowers, worth a total $250 while Charlene received a sash, a trophy, a $50 Myer gift voucher and a bouquet of flowers, worth a total of $120.
Event organiser Bradford Newbond congratulated all the competitors and thanked everyone who attended the dance as well. He said the event was a great success.
