A MAN was arrested by police after telling a barber he had committed a crime.
Last Thursday, Lynbrook’s Donut King store was broken into overnight and a laptop and cash from the till stolen.
Through video surveillance, detectives were able to retrieve an image of a man and his car registration.
The car was last seen heading north to New South Wales.
On Saturday police received a phone call from Swan Hill.
A man had visited a barber shop to get his hair cut, and bragged to the hairdresser that he had got away with a burglary in Lynbrook.
The barber immediately called police and the man was arrested.
Police have charged Daniel Taylor, formerly of a Narre Warren boarding house, with burglary.
He was bailed to appear before the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 27 November.
