TOORADIN Primary School has become the first school in the City of Casey to receive the Kids – ‘Go for your life’ award.
The award was officially presented to the school on Monday 14 April.
The school is now leading the way in promoting a healthy environment for its children, staff and families by incorporating physical activities with healthy eating.
Students are encouraged to increase their consumption of water, fruit and vegetables while limiting foods such as chips, lollies and soft drinks.
The school’s canteen no longer has these items for sale.
The Kids – ‘Go for your life’ award program is managed by Diabetes Australia and the Cancer Council Victoria and is funded by the Victorian Government.
