A CRANBOURNE woman killed in a murder-suicide in February has been identified.
Mother of two Susan Ardzi, 36, was killed when the car her estranged husband Abdul “Ray” Ardzi was driving crashed in Mount Dandenong on 21 February.
Police were told that prior to the collision Mr Ardzi had threatened to harm himself and had left a note to that effect.
Witnesses told police the crash appeared to be a murder-suicide as there were no skid marks and the car went straight into a phone pole.
Police said the car was heading towards Kalorama when it failed to negotiate a bend before leaving the road and colliding with the pole at 10.35pm.
It sheared the pole off and continued on for about 100 metres through a wire fence and hedge. It continued on into bushland and hit a tree before exploding.
It appeared the car’s LPG fuel tank ignited on the initial impact with the phone pole and the car was incinerated when it hit the tree.
Police said Mr Ardzi’s body was so badly burnt it took more than a week to identify him through dental records.
