Cheer on a plate

CHRISTMAS has come and those finding it a bit harder this festive season are invited to come to Cranbourne and share in a feast.
Cranbourne’s Christmas Community Kitchen will tempt the senses next Wednesday.
Roast turkey with all the accompaniments, salads and fruit platters are on the menu.
Phil Sealey, head chef at William Angliss Casey Café, where the community kitchen is held, said that more than 550 meals were served at last year’s event.
“We are looking at serving up the same if not more at this year’s Cranbourne Christmas Community Kitchen,” he said.
William Angliss Institute of TAFE students, Cranbourne Community Focus Group, and major sponsor National Australia Bank will again support the event.
Members and volunteers from Cranbourne Information and Support Service will also be on hand to help out.
Cranbourne MP Jude Perera said the community kitchens had now become a Cranbourne institution and encouraged struggling locals to come down.
It will be held on Wednesday 19 December from 5.30pm to 8pm at the William Angliss Casey Café, 65 Berwick-Cranbourne Road, Cranbourne East.
