Banner up for GP run

HIGH Street in Cranbourne will be a sea of colour come Grand Prix day.
Community groups in the region have been busy with paint and brushes preparing colourful banners as part of the City of Casey’s banner project to celebrate the MRA Cranbourne GP Run on Saturday, 15 October.
Casey chief executive officer Mike Tyler said the initiative aimed to enhance the community and cultural feel offered by the MRA Cranbourne GP Run.
“The City of Casey banner project brings together a range of residents working together to help make the streets look more festive and to help welcome visitors to this great event,” he said.
The community groups involved in this year’s banner program include: The Cranbourne Parkinson’s Disease Support Group, the Cranbourne Bicycle Users Group, BATS Theatre Company, the Cranbourne Country Women’s Association, the Cranbourne Arthritis Support Group, and the Cranbourne RSL Bowling Club.
The MRA Cranbourne GP Run will kick off at 8am in High Street, with the ‘celebrity wave off’ beginning at 10am.
