TWO houses on the same street were burgled within a day of one another in similar incidents last week.
A property in Robjant Street, Hampton Park, was broken into at 5pm on 29 October, while another house a few doors down was burgled the previous day.
Police said in the incident on 29 October, someone smashed a glass panel next to the front door and searched and ransacked the house.
The owner of the house, a 45-year-old man, returned home and confronted a man coming out of the building.
The would-be thief then took off on foot.
He was described as Caucasian, 184 centimetres tall, of slim build, with dark brown short hair, unshaven, in his mid to late 20s, and wearing a grey T-shirt.
Police said the man had blood on his hands and walked north down Robjant Street.
Nothing was stolen as police believe the man was disturbed in the incident.
Any witnesses are urged to contact Senior Constable David Measham at Cranbourne CIU on 5991 0661.
