Trailer stolen by booze bandit

A THIEF was in high spirits after a truck trailer containing a large amount of alcohol was stolen from a Lyndhurst service station last week.
The massive trailer had been unhitched from a semi-trailer and parked in the carpark of the BP service station on the corner of the Western Port Highway and Thompsons Road.
The trailer held two 20-foot shipping containers and was parked in the rear carpark near the Red Rooster.
When the truck’s owner returned the next morning, the trailer and the shipping containers were gone.
One of the shipping containers contained a large quantity of alcoholic spirits while the other contained furniture.
Police estimated the total value at about $200,000.
The theft happened some time between 8pm on 27 July and 6am on 28 July.
The trailer had the registration number 51315S.
One of the containers is brown with the brand Cronos written on it. The other has Hamburg Sud written on its side.
Anyone with information can contact Detective Senior Constable Mick Van Hammond at Cranbourne CIU on 5995 4577.
