Support for new centre

LYNBROOK residents may soon be able to add a community house to the amenities in the area.
Councillors at last week’s Casey council meeting agreed to investigate establishing a new meeting place for residents, including potential sites, costs and a timeframe for works.
River Gum Ward councillor Wayne Smith said a recent survey revealed the top complaint from residents was the lack of a meeting place.
He said community groups were forced to use the new Lynbrook Primary School for meetings and functions, often limiting residents’ avenues of socialising to those with children. Lynbrook Residents Association President Jarrod Emmins said he was extremely supportive of the idea, and that at least five community groups in the area would benefit from a community house.
