Ring brings confidence

WHEN Nathan Vidot first met dental nurse Venessa Walters he knew it was love at first bite.
The Cranbourne North man’s jaw dropped after a brief meeting with his bride to be in the dentist’s chair three years ago.
It was this unusual tale of sweet romance that won Nathan the opportunity to propose to his ‘soulmate’ with an exclusive $4000 Australian Diamond Company 2006 engaging romance ring.
The couple’s dream of marriage came true on Tuesday night when Nathan got down on bended knee in front of a packed crowd of celebrities as the winner of the ADC Melbourne’s most romantic story competition.
Nathan said Venessa was gobsmacked by the surprise engagement, which the couple thought would be unaffordable after recently purchasing a new home.
“I always knew I was going to marry Venessa and we had talked about it but I thought I would struggle to pay for a ring after buying a new home in Cranbourne North. As of last week it was just something for the future,” he said.
Nathan said he wooed his future wife into the city with the promise of dinner and drinks as a special treat for working so hard over the past few weeks.
“She had worked 15 days straight so she thought I was lovely for taking her out on a Monday night.“She didn’t have a clue. It was a total surprise.
“I was so nervous but the night went without a hitch. I couldn’t have asked for a better proposal,” he said.
Nathan said Venessa loved her new four claw solitaire diamond ring and would now have a unique story to tell the grandkids.
“We haven’t set a date yet. We still haven’t thought that far.
“But it was a fantastic experience that we will always remember,” he said. – Alison Noonan
