LOCAL businesses have banded together to raise money for the family of Blind Bight girl Logan Harris, who died after she was hit by a car last Thursday.
Five Beaconsfield businesses, a Cranbourne and a Berwick business have all donated vouchers for the raffle to go to the family of the six-year-old.
Amanda Georgaras, a close friend of the family who works at Hairko Studio in Beaconsfield, came up with the idea.
“You feel a bit helpless,” Ms Georgaras said.
“This is a way to let them know people out there care and that we’re here.”
Her fiance Brett Barros’s best friend is Logan’s uncle and she said the death had affected all of them.
“She had such a beautiful smile,” Ms Georgaras said.
“The last time I saw her she was playing with the other kids at a family function. They were all laughing and smiling. They looked so happy.”
Inbeauty and Berwick Massage in Beaconsfield donated massages, Taco Bill gave a dinner voucher, Hairko two haircut and blow-wave vouchers and a client offered perfume, and The Corner Post in Beaconsfield donated a meal voucher.
Cranbourne Fishing Tackle donated a $60 voucher and a DVD worth $60 and Shanikas in Berwick donated a dinner voucher.
The raffle tickets can be bought at Hairko Studio at 26 Wood Street, Beaconsfield. All proceeds will go to the Harris family.
The raffle will be drawn at the end of next week.
