Icy replies warm hearts

AN icy letter from Santa sent 30 tiny hearts racing at Tooradin Primary School this week.
Grade prep students were shocked to each receive a letter of reply from Father Christmas himself, after writing to him with their December 25 wish lists the previous week.
Teacher Sue Tobin said the letters were still ice cold, having been delivered express post from the North Pole.
“The students were over the moon. They just couldn’t believe it,” she said.
The surprise capped a busy week of Christmas activities in all grades, including decorating classrooms and making presents to give to family members.
Teacher Diane Hayne said grade five and six students were still recovering from an action packed weekend of go-kart racing at the recent RACV Energy Breakthrough Challenge in Maryborough.
Students had to design and build their own push kart to compete in several races at the three day event, finishing 27th out of 70 schools.
“They worked hard all term redesigning and rebuilding.
“It was a great effort to finish 27th and we were all very proud,” she said.
