POLICE are searching for a woman who stabbed a teenage girl in Cranbourne over a week ago.
The 17-year-old Keysborough girl was walking through a park off Clarendon Street at about 11pm on Sunday 25 November when a woman walked up to her.
Police said the female started a fight with the girl before pulling out a knife and stabbing her.
She was with two men at the time however police do not believe they were involved in the dispute.
The woman has been described as having long light brown or blonde hair in a pony tail, skinny, wearing a white tank top with a black stripe across the shoulder and black tracksuit pants with a star at the top and on the leg.
Her male friends were described as one being skinny and the other slightly overweight.
The girl received a stab wound to the lower left abdominal area.
She was operated on and spent two days at the Dandenong Hospital and is now under pain management.
However, doctors do not expect long term effects.
The knife, which was later discovered in the park by the girl’s friends, was found to have blood on it and is now awaiting forensic examination.
